We took a 7:15 flight from STL to New York. We flew first class but only got cookies. We thought for sure we would get breakfast. The flight was delayed due to freezing rain. I was worried we may not even get out of STL. We flew to New York but the fog was too heavy and we couldn't land at LaGuardia so they diverted us to Syracuse New York where we stayed for a couple of hours and had a couple of bloody Marys and a bag of chips. The fog lifted and we flew into LaGuardia and we landed about 3 o'clock which was well after our 10:30 expected arrival but we were thankful we got there. we took a taxi from the airport to the Waldorf Astoria. The taxi was $50. We checked in and went to room 964. It is a very lovely room. We had a nice fake fireplace. I had been warned that the rooms were small but we were very pleased with the size of our room. That night we walked to Rockefeller Center, saw the tree and skating rink. We had dinner at Cellini's which cost about 120$ and we came back to the Waldorf and had some drinks at the Bull & Bear bar. We had two coupons for two drinks because Steve is a diamond member of Hilton.
We got back to the room about 9 o'clock and had a good night’s sleep.
