2018 may 14 Florida Disney Springs
On Monday May 14, we got up at 6 and had breakfast at the hotel. We left about 7:30 and got to Florida in about 20 minutes. We stopped at the welcome center and took pictures and let the girls look at everything. We got back in the car and it poured down rain.
I got a text message from Animal Kingdom lodge that our room was ready. We got room 3237…third floor. I had registered on line…So, when we arrived about 11:30…we unloaded the luggage…steve parked the car and we went straight to our room. Our view is simply amazing. We have 4 giraffes…one is a baby…2 zebra, 3 antelope, 4 gazelles, and a variety of birds including pelicans, and 2 wild asses. They are enclosed by an electric fence that is very inconspicuous. There is always an attendant feeding them or picking up the droppings. They are all beautiful and seem to be very content. Our room is in the middle of the area…so we have a spectacular view. We have 2 queens beds, a table and 2 chairs, a nightstand, a large armoire with 2 drawers, a tv and plenty of space on top to store things and a small shelf under to do the same. There is a small frig with space on top to also place things. There is a large closet with a shelf. There is a room with 2 sinks and there is room under it to store things. There is a bathroom with the toilet and tub/shower. There is an alcove with an adjoining door to the room next door that I stored the suitcases in and it is out of the way. The carpet looks new and the walls freshly painted. The décor is lovely. It is a nice sized room…but with 4 adults…there is not a lot of space. I would think with little ones running around…it could be cramped…but it is adequate for us. We have a long narrow covered balcony with a table and 2 chairs. We all love sitting there watching the animals.
We had lunch at the maara. The girls had chicken nuggets and Steve and I had a chili dog…. $50. It has begun…lol
We caught the bus to Disney Springs. The girls shopped and steve and I sat at the margarita bar so we could see them walking. Two margaritas…$34. I went looking for placemats for Ginny and did find some…but they were not what Cory had in mind.
We had 5:45 dinner reservations at the Boathouse. Sloane had the macaroni and cheese lobster $36.50, Shelbie had crab cake $25, and steve and I shared the lobster bake $75. We all had a bowl of lobster bisque $12. Everything was very good. The bill was $265.82
We caught the bus back to the resort. The girls and I went shopping at the gift shop…Zawadi marketplace. I bought a few things. We went to the room…and the surprises I had ordered had been delivered! I got Sloane the Birthday surprise and Shelbie the Belle surprise…$200. They showered …we had cake and we got into bed about 11.
